The Kosmorama Main Award

Kosmorama’s international main competition programme consists of twelve films hand-picked by the festival’s programme council. A five-member expert jury will decide the winner of the prize for the best film in the main competition programme.

The Cosmonaut of the Year

The Cosmonaut of the Year is a gala event where we will show the best films made during the last year by boys and girls from the region. The films may have been made at home, at schools or youth clubs or other organisations for teenagers.

The debutant award

A special international debutant award will be presented during the festival. Yngve Sæther, development producer at the production company Motlys, has curated a programme consisting of ten especially promising first films from all over the world.

National pitching competition

Erlend Loe, a well-known Norwegian author and a former feature film consultant for the Norwegian Film Fund, will select fifteen feature film projects for a new, national pitching competition, in which the winner will be awarded NOK 100.000 in development support.

New film award in cooperation with the film industry unions

Members of the various film industry guilds and unions sum up the film year of 2004 with an award that will see its first light of day during the Kosmorama international film festival 12-17 April.

Cathrine Maske makes the industry award

The award is as yet nameless, but Kosmorama is very proud to announce that one of Norway’s most exciting glass artists will be making the statuette.
